Koresh say 'YES' to unicorns ball bag.

It's rare you get to type a blog title like that, but I can because it is entirely true.

So, let us all cast our minds back a small while. Those of you who haven't mangled you mind--boxes may just be able to remember that I had the good fortune to work with London sludgey weirdos Koresh on the artwork for their record Crippledriver. It featured horses dongs and vomiting cats and was one of the most fun jobs I have ever done. Well, low and behold, Koresh have a new record coming up and they asked me to do the artwork again. As Koresh are the only client who demand more dick pictures, and therefore the best client ever, I of course said YES!

So the new Koresh record is called Chump and the artwork is again equestrain in tone, but this time it's gone all Game of Thrones (kinda) as we drift into the fantasy world of Unicorn Fighting. Once an incredibly popular sport, you rarely see it featured on TV anymore, more's the pity. Anyway, here's the front cover:

Koresh_chumpfrontfinal

Now, Koresh being the best clients ever, as previously mentioned, they said 'we love it BUT can you make sure the back is a little less serious'....so this is what we settled on:

Koresh_chumpbackfinal

So there you go. Enjoy. Hopefully peoples will get it tattooed on them like they did vomiting kitty. Don't remember? Well, here you go then:

That's all for now. I'm not sure about the release date but keep an eye on Withered Hand Records and I'll do my best to remember to update this post when it's out.

All Set For Success!

Ahoy denizens of the interwaves! I trust you are all alive and well.

I have returned from adventures and in tow I bring new treats for you to squander monies on. But where have you been, I hear you cry? I have been over there. Yes, there, in that America. More specifically I went to SXSW in Austin, Texas and attended the always wonderful Flatstock festival.

Flatstock, for those unaware of it, is a gigantaloid gig poster convention where the great and the good from the world of poster design come along to display their articles. As ever I came flying the flag for the UK Poster Association (UKPA) alongside my booth friend Graham Pilling, and other UK poster peoples Telegramme Studio, WeThreeClub, Michael Cowell and Nick Rhodes, with the aim of promoting not just the artists in attendance, but those from the wider UK scene as well. Twas a heap of fun as always and a big thank you goes to all who came by and made it such. What did it all look like? Well, Graham made a video so you can see for yourself:

Looks good right? Well it was.

I also had some new wares on our booth which I can now make available to you via the power of my online store. First off I have new things to cover up your hideous bodies in the form of t-shirts. I made two new designs featuring the worlds favourite motifs, cats and skulls. The cat based one features a conjoined twin cat and the slogan 'All Set For Success' and comes in a light grey or a powder blue in mens cut/size, and in pink in womens cut (I wanted pink mens too but sadly Next Level don't make a mens pink shirt. Outraged!) and looks like this:

And can be obtained HERE

The second skull themed tee allows you to find out what your own skull will look like long after you die and is called 'You (Dead)'. It is available in metal grey and midnight blue in both mens and womens cuts and looks alot like this:

And can be purchased HERE

Finally, thanks to the screenprint masters Andy MacDougall of Squeegeeville and Jonathan Rebolloso of Serie Project, I have a new art print for sale called The Procession. Printed live for the public to gawk at during Flatstock 38, these are 3 colour screenprints and look like this:

426569_10152625574415114_1772907297_n

And can be nabbed HERE

Thats it for now. Hope you like the new bits and bob.

Bye! Luke

Dinosaur It Coming

Hello humans and non-humans

I hope all is well. I have been a bit remiss with lack of blogging. I assure you it is due to being busy and not that I am ignoring you. I would never do that. A couple of album artwork projects are completed and I’ll post about them soon, but for now I have a couple of new poster prints completed so hold on to your hats, or if you aren't wearing a hat pop one on and then hold onto it.

First up there's a piece that was a genuine joy to work on. Dinosaur Jr's management contacted me asked if I would do a poster for one of the shows on their Euro tour. In the end I designed a poster advertising both the Swedish dates. It features wolves being repelled by an unseen explosion...and why not? Look at all of it with all of your eyes now and then go and buy one HERE:

I also recently did another poster for those good folk at The Local for the always excellent Shhh Festival. The festival was held for the first time at the rather stunning Heath St Baptist Church in Hampstead and the prints feature a broken Astral Space Module silently plummeting to the surface of an unknown planet. I'm sure the astroman will be fine. Probably. I have a very limited number to sell myself so if you like how it appears to your head vision balls you can buy one HERE:

That's it for now, lots coming up so I will return. Oh yes. Now be gone, all of you.

Twas A New 'The Black Keys' Print Before Xmas...

...and all through the house, the printer was printing, as fast as a mouse...

I have no idea how fast a mouse can print. Not large-scale anyway...

Hello all. Welcome to my final blog nonsense of 2012. As promised I have one last print for the year, however due to a printing malfunction it will strictly speaking be a print for the beginning of 2013. Here's what happened.

I designed a poster for The Black Keys show on 13th December 2012 at O2 Arena in London that looks like this:

Black_keys_dec12_flatlow

Due to various hiccups, my personal quota of the prints will not be turning up until the first week in Jan 2013. However as I have had quite a few emails from people about them, I have decided to offer the first 30 of my copies up for pre-order HERE. These will ship the moment they are in my sweaty hands, which as I mentioned will be the first week in Jan. As it stands I think I will have 40 copies from the 200 edition plus some A/Ps too.

Anyways, that is all for the year. I hope you like the new Black Keys print and all the other arty nonsense I have pumped out over the year. As for 2013, expect more comic strips and books, a counting aid for kids, more posters and prints and a load of new sculpture stuff. It will all be adequate.

Merry Christmas you massive world!

Poverty, colouring-in and good times - An interview with Luke Drozd

Hello again everyone.

Well, everyone that reads these things. Lots of people are very busy and don't have time. I can't blame them. There's tons of things I don't read. Sometimes I even lie and say I do...but I don't.

But that's off topic, what I really wanted to tell you about was some more words elsewhere.

Sometimes people ask me questions about how and why I waste my time. My responsiveness to the questions varies depending on a series of random factors. Well for whatever reason I got one recently from Portalsmusic.com that I decided I would not answer like a goon. That doesn't mean I don't sound like a goon, but that wasn't the intention for once. Read it with your vision orbs here:

THIS IS WHERE THE ANSWERS LIVE!

That is all for now. There may well be a couple of last bits before xmas to post about but I will keep you, well....posted.

Bestest, Luke

Xmas Sale - DON'T LET SANTA DIE!

Hello all

Christmas is nearly upon us and Santa needs presents to fill his sack. If there are not enough presents in his sack, he will float away into space...where he will DIE! Or so legend says...

"But Luke, what is the best way to ensure this catastrophe doesn't happy?", I hear you shout! Well, it's to buy things from my online store and then send them to Santa to deliver, that's how. And to help out at my end, I have decided to have a limited xmas shop sale! Here's the deal:

15% off when you buy £30 worth of handcrafted joy from http://lukedrozd.bigcartel.com/ and then enter BULGINGSACK in discount code section at checkout. Simple as that.

Offer will be on until Sunday 9th December at Midnight. If by then Santa's sack is still not bulging, all we can do is pray.

Merry Christmas Mortals!

Buy these posters or the fox gets it...

Hello friendly folks! Slightly threatening title. When I say 'the fox gets it', I mean the poster. I will not kill it.

Christmas is fast approaching and I am fighting the urge to do nothing but eat and drink and stay inside the house under a blanket. Alas, the nonsense I make will not make itself so I continue to fill the world with stuff. With that in mind, look! New posters!

First off the bat is my new SHHH poster. A day of quiet music, SHHH has been going for a few years now, the first one being in Leeds and organised by myself and Drew Millward. Now run by the good folk at The Local, it is taking a jaunt to Glasgow. I made a lovely poster of a sneaky fox for it. I quite like it and I hope you do too. It is available HERE: http://lukedrozd.bigcartel.com/product/shhh-quiet-music-festival-poster

Second up we have my poster for Ben Folds Five as part of the reunion tour series set up by the Richard Goodall Gallery in Manchester. My poster features an entire town getting together to celebrate inside a massive dragon outfit. It is available now HERE: http://lukedrozd.bigcartel.com/product/ben-folds-five-poster

That is all for now. One last poster for 2012 and the follow up to Dark Days is well underway.

Ta-ra, Luke.
